Sir John Bourn is a former Comptroller and Auditor General of the United Kingdom . He was a member of the board of the Financial Reporting Council and the Chairman of its Professional Oversight Board. Sir John is a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and is also a Governor of the School.

He was awarded a CBE for service to the accountancy profession and local government and is Honorary Professor of Accounting at Aberdeen University , Scotland .
